Travel to the paradise of Paracas to observe marine life and the mysterious and enigmatic Nazca lines. Journey to Arequipa known as “The White City” and on to the Colca Canyon one of the deepest canyons in the world. Then off to Puno to ride the Lake Titicaca waters exploring the unique traditional lifestyles of its habitants of the floating islands and Taquile. SUMMARY OF THE TRIP:

Day 1: Arrive in Lima the City of Kings

Our representative will greet you at the airport and transfer to Miraflores hotel.

Day 2: Lima City Tour – Bus Journey to Paracas Paradise

In the morning or afternoon, we will visit the most important historic and modern attractions of this cosmopolitan city. Lima was known as the City of Kings was declared a UNESCO World Heritage in 1988. We will observe the colonial and republic constructions of the Cathedral, Torre Tagle Palace, the Government Palace and Archbishop´s Palace. Tour the San Francisco Catacombs. Then drive by the contemporary residential neighborhoods of San Isidro with its olive grove and Huaca Huallamarca, Miraflores with its Central Park (Kennedy Park), Kiss park, shopping centers overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Return to your hotel.
In the afternoon, transfer to the bus station to board a comfortable safe bus to Paracas, a 3.5 hours’ drive. Arrive in Paracas and transfer to your hotel.

Day 3: Paracas – Ballestas Islands – Over Flight of the Nazca Lines

Early in the morning, yacht cruise to the Ballestas Islands inhabited by abundant bird species like the guano birds, pelicans, Humboldt penguin and marine life of sea lions. On our way to the islands we will catch a glimpse of the figure of El Candelabro (a geoglyph of a great rocky formation eroded by the sea and the wind). Tour the islands from the boat. Return to the port and transfer to the Pisco airport for your over flight of the mysterious and enigmatic Nazca lines consisting of zoomorphic and anthropomorphic figures, as well as parallel lines and geometric shapes which can only be seen from the skies. Return to your hotel.

Day 4: Paracas – Bus Journey to Lima – Fly to Arequipa

In the morning, transfer to the bus station to take the bus to Lima. Arrive in the bus station and transfer to the Lima airport for your flight to Arequipa. Reception at the airport and transfer to the center of Arequipa. Hotel in Arequipa.

Day 5: Arequipa City Tour

In the morning, we will tour the White City of Arequipa. Visit the most fascinating colonial religious buildings in Peru, the Plaza de Armas with its colorful gardens and central fountain, diverse architecture like temples, convents, and the very famous Santa Catalina monastery which dates back to 1580, surrounded by imposing high walls and the 450 nuns whom lived in seclusion and never ventured outside the convent.

Day 6: Arequipa – Colca Canyon

This morning we depart Arequipa towards Chivay passing the nature reserve of Pampa Cañahuas where vicuñas and sometimes guanacos can be seen. On route if we have clear skies catch impressive views of the Misti and Chachani volcanoes. In the afternoon we arrive in the city of Chivay and have lunch before going to your hotel. Day 7: Colca Canyon – Cruz del Condor Viewpoint – Puno

In the morning we will travel to Cruz del Condor, a spectacular place to observe the powerful Condors soaring the skies or perched on the mountain. Be in awe with the depth of the Colca Canyon one of the deepest in the world. On our return we will visit the towns of Yanque and Coporaque for a cultural experience. In the afternoon, land transfer from Chivay to Puno, sightseeing beautiful landscapes and lakes. Arrive in Puno and transfer to your hotel.

Day 8: Lake Titicaca – Uros Manmade Islands - Taquile Islands Tour

Transfer in the morning to the port where we board the boat and ride the Lake Titicaca waters. We will explore the Uros islands with its ancient inhabitants of Titicaca, that use the totora reeds to build their homes, boats and their islands where they live which are replaced periodically. After a cultural experience we ride the boat to the island of Taquile where there are approximately 2,500 Puno Quechua people. The Taquileños are known for the best textile weavings in Peru. Retrace your route back to Puno and transfer to your hotel.

Day 9: Puno – Cultural Sun Route to Cusco

The Puno to Cusco Bus Tour takes you through the fascinating sun route visiting the Pukara Museum, Raya the highest point between Puno and Cusco, Raqchi the temple of Wiricocha, lunch in Sicuani and Andahuaylillas San Pedro Church (The Sistine Chapel of the Americas). Arrive in Cusco and transfer to your hotel.

Day 10: Cusco Inca Tour

This morning after a delicious breakfast we will start the tour of the charming city of Cusco. We will observe the Inca walls that remain, visit the Plaza de Armas for a tour of the Cathedral with its lovely paintings painted by the Cusco School. Walk on the city´s cobbled stoned streets to Qoricancha, the Sun Temple for a tour of its sacred Inca building which once had walls covered with gold. Continue above Cusco for a visit of the impressive Sacsayhuaman archeological site with its immense stones which the Spaniards took to build the Cathedral and other places in Cusco. Our final visit will be of the San Pedro market where the local’s shop, where you will experience culture. Rest of the day (afternoon) at leisure to explore the city.

Day 11: Cusco – Chinchero – Maras Salt Ponds – Moray Circular Depressions – Sacred Valley

Enjoy a colorful cultural experience touring the small town of Chinchero that is higher in elevation than Cusco. Walk to the main plaza for a visit of the small colonial church, the nearby Inca ruins with walls built with trapezoidal niches, observe a colorful ancient weaving demonstration and if visiting on Sunday you will get a chance to explore an authentic Indian market (where bartering is still practiced). We drive to Moray for a visit of the famous enormous circular depressions on the ground. Recent studies have thrown out the theory of this place being an agricultural lab and instead thought to be a place for ceremonies or even a landing pad. You decide. Afterwards, we will drive down to the colonial town of Maras for a visit of the Plaza before continuing to the Maras salt ponds spread out in the center of the mountains with a serene view. Day 12: Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes Machu Picchu Tour

Early morning transfer from your hotel to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Machu Picchu. Enjoy an incredible scenic train ride viewing the landscapes along the way. Arrive at the station in Aguas Calientes where you will be met by your guide. Walk together to the bus station where you will wait on line for your turn to board the shuttle bus to Machu Picchu, a 25-minute ride. Take pleasure in a private guided tour of the magical “Lost city of the Incas” one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Admire the exquisite architecture of the temples and listen to the tales and history of this mysterious complex. Day 13: Aguas Calientes Machu Picchu Town – Train ride – Cusco

Day 15: Cusco – Fly to Puerto Maldonado – Amazon Rainforest

Morning transfer to the Cusco airport, flight to Puerto Maldonado. Arrive in Puerto Maldonado where our Lodge representative will greet you and transfer to the port to board the boat for a ride along the Madre de Dios River. Arrive at the Amazon lodge and receive a briefing and get comfortable in your bungalow or cabaña. We will take a guided walk along the Amazon trail system and have an introduction to nature and its wildlife. In the evening we will take a canoe for a twilight river excursion. Return to the lodge for a restful sleep with the sounds of the jungle. Lodging

Day 16: Amazon – Sandoval Lake

Early in the morning, we set off for a hike through Terra Firma into the Tambopata National Reserve towards Sandoval Lake. Then we navigate by canoe across the oxbow lake, home to the endangered giant river otter, blue and yellow macaw and more wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch we will start the adventure with the Canopy Walkway and Anaconda walk for great breathtaking views of nature, toucans, squirrel monkeys and more. Understand and learn of one of the world’s most precious biodiversity of Peru. In the evening before dinner, we will take another hike in the Amazon to catch sight of the nocturnal species of the jungle. Return to the lodge for dinner.

After breakfast, we will take the boat back to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima.
