The Capital Of Peru

Lima was founded by Pizzaro in 1535 as, The City of Kings, the capital of Peru located in the coast. The Viceroyalty of Peru was created in 1542, where the Spanish governed from the capital of Lima, the South American countries except Venezuela and Brazil.

This rich city of Lima is full of history, culture and love displaying its elegance and dominance with its contemporary, colonial and pre-Inca sites around the city such as, Pachacamac with many pyramids, Huaca Pucllana the adobe and clay complex, Caral thought to be the oldest urban Centre in the Americas (UNESCO World Heritage in 2009) etc.

Today´s Lima, is a cosmopolitan city filled with fine restaurants to savor Peruvian Cuisine, shopping malls, art galleries, museums, archeological sites and much more.

Barranco

Barranco is a vibrant district in Lima, which has a cool vibe and is very bohemian. The district was established as a beach resort in 1874 and became a popular place for the elite.  It is one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Lima where you will see colorful street art, many cafes, restaurants, art galleries, old mansions, and museums. Cross the famous landmark of the wooden Bridge of Sighs and make sure to make a wish and hold your breath as you cross the entire bridge and legend has it your wish will be granted.  Visit an art gallery to see the lively paintings and sculptures and then go to a café to indulge in a fresh aromatic brewed cup of coffee. Many famous artists live in the posh district of Barranco, Peru.
